누가복음(Luke)24장 동영상 및 한글/영어 자막(BibleProject)

마가복음 24장은 인간으로서 최후의 예수님의 죽음을 이야기하고 있습니다. 어떻게 죽은 것을 확인한 사람이 부활하고, 무덤이 비어있고, 슬퍼하는 제자들에게 나타나고, 왜 제자들은 예수님을 알아보지 못하고, 그들과 식사 후 제자들에게 말씀을 선포하시고 하늘로 올라가시는 한 편의 추리소설 같은 마가의 예수님 이야기입니다. 현대를 사는 우리는 이 이야기를 어떻게 받아들이고, 또 어떻게 믿어야 할까요?

이 동영상에서 설명하듯, 세상을 '거꾸로' 바라보신 예수님처럼, 우리도 정말로 세상적인 이 세대를 '거꾸로(upside down)'바라보아야 예수님을 우리의 가슴으로 인정하고 받아들일 수 있습니다. 세상의 바보가 되어야 하나님 나라에서 칭찬을 받을 수 있기 때문입니다. 성경은 머리로 이해하는 것이 아니라, 가슴으로 받아들여야 하지 않을까요? 하나님을 눈으로 보고 믿는 것이 아니라 나의 가슴으로 보고 믿듯이 말입니다. 

예수님 죽음에 대한 누가복음 마지막 24장을 공부하기 전에 배경에 대한 공부가 필요할 것 같아서 24장의 배경을 자세히 다룬 다른 바이블프로젝트 동영상의 내용을 정리합니다.

We have been looking at the story of Jesus as it is told in Luke's Gospel. It begins with the arrival of an unlikely king born in poor humble circumstances.

우리는 누가복음에 기록된 예수님의 이야기를 보았습니다. 가난하고 겸손한 환경에서 태어날 것 같지 않은 한 왕의 임재로 이 이야기는 시작됩니다.

Then we saw Jesus as a teacher-prophet. He went through out Israel calling people to a radical way of life. Where enemies become friends, the poor are cared for, where people find forgiveness for their failures. He went from town to town, inviting people to follow him, and live under God's reign in this upside down way.

그때 우리는 예수를 한 선생이자 선지자로 보았습니다. 그는 급진적인 삶의 방식으로 사람들을 초대하면서 이스라엘을 통과합니다. 그곳에서는 적이 친구가 되고, 가난한 사람들이 보살핌을 받고, 사람들은 자신의 실패에 대한 용서를 구합니다. 그는 마을에서 마을로 갔고, 사람들에게 자신을 따라오라고 초대합니다. 그리고 거꾸로 된 방식으로 하나님의 통치 아래 백성들이 살기를 초대합니다. 

And he did many signs and wonders, so many Israelites began to hope that He would rescue Israel from the Romans
and set up a new kingdom of peace and justice. In short, that He would bring the Kingdom of God.

그리고 예수는 많은 표적과 놀라움을 행했습니다. 그래서 많은 이스라엘 사람들은 예수가 로마로부터 이스라엘을 구원하고 평화와 정의의 새로운 왕국을 세울 것을 희망하기 시작합니다. 요컨데, 그는 하나님의 왕국을 이룰 것이라는 희망이었습니다. 

Now, the religious leaders of the day were also hoping for God's Kingdom but to them, the message of Jesus was a threat. Yeah, they had expected to gain power and prestige when all this went down. But Jesus said that God's kingdom belongs to the poor, to the outsider. And the real power is serving others in love.

당시 종교 지도자들도 하나님의 나라를 바라고 있었습니다. 그러나 그들에게 예수님의 말씀은 위협이었습니다. 그들은 이 모든 것이 이루어 졌을 때 권력과 위엄을 얻을 것을 기대했습니다. 그러나 예수님은 하나님의 나라가 가난한 자와 소외된 자들에 속한다고 말씀하십니다. 그리고 진정한 힘은 사랑으로 다른 사람들을 섬기는 것이라고 말씀하십니다. 

This conflict intensified when Jesus, while in Jerusalem disrupted the temple's sacrifices and called Israel's leaders a gang of rebels. So, they arrested Jesus and they have him accused before the Roman authorities of being a rebel king. He was handed over for execution even though he was innocent.

예수께서 예루살렘에서 성전의 희생제물을 뒤엎으시고 이스라엘의 지도자들을 반군 무리라고 부르면서 이러한 갈등은 격렬해집니다. 그래서 그들은 예수를 체포하고 그를 반군 왕으로 로마 정부에 고소합니다. 예수는 무고함에게 불구하고 처형을 위해 넘겨집니다. 

But then he was taken outside the city and put to death on false charges. This brings us to the final section of the Gospel of Luke. There was a religious leader named Joseph, who opposed Jesus's execution and then requested to be given his body so he could buried Jesus in a nearby tomb.

그러나 예수는 도시 밖으로 끌려가서 거짓 혐의로 죽임을 당합니다. 그리고 이야기는 누가복음의 마지막 부분으로 이어집니다. 요셉이라는 종교 지도자가 있었는데, 그는 예수의 처형을 반대했고 그의 시신을 달라고 요청합니다. 그래서 그는 예수를 근처의 무덤에 묻을 수 있었습니다. 

And then a couple of days later some women who had followed Jesus, came to visit that tomb and they found it open, and empty and they encounter these mysterious figures telling them that Jesus was alive from the dead.
So they ran away terrified, nobody believed their report. I mean he can't be alive they all saw him die.

그리고 며칠 후 예수님을 따랐던 여인들이 그 무덤을 찾습니다. 그리고 그들은 무덤이 열려있고 비어있는 것을 발견합니다. 그리고 신비한 사람들을 만나 예수가 죽음에서 일어나셨는 말을 듣습니다. 그래서 그들은 겁이 나서 도망쳤고 그들의 보고를 믿은 사람이 아무도 없었습니다. 그가 살아남을 수 없다는 뜻입니다. 그들 모두는 예수가 죽은 것은 보았기 때문입니다. 

Now, just outside of Jerusalem a pair of Jesus's followers were leaving the city traveling on a road to a town called Emmaus. And they were sad and confused about everything that had happened. Then Jesus shows up walking along side them but they do not know it is him. Yeah, that is weird. Why could not they recognized him? Yeah, it is odd but a really significant image for Luke.

한편 예루살렘 외곽에서 두 명의 예수 추종자들이 예루살렘을 떠나 엠마오라는 도시로 가는 길로 여행 중에 있었습니다. 그리고 그들은 일어난 모든 일에 대해 슬프고 혼란스러웠습니다. 그런데 예수님이 그들과 함께 걸으면서 나타나셨는데 제자들은 그 사람이 예수님인지 모릅니다. 네, 이상합니다. 왜 그들은 예수를 알아볼 수 없었을까요? 네, 이상하지만 이것은 누가에게 정말 중요한 이미지입니다. 

So, they are blind to Jesus for some reason, so Jesus asks them. What are you guys talking about?  And they begin telling him about Jesus, a powerful prophet who they expected would rescue Israel; but it was instead executed.
Some women see him alive, which is crazy. It is all too much, we are going home. So Jesus tries to explain that this is what the Jewish scriptures had been pointing to all along.

그래서 그들은 어떤 이유로 예수를 보지 못하고 예수님이 그들에게 묻습니다. "너희들 무슨 이야기를 하고 있었느냐?" 그들은 예수님에 대하여 말하기 시작합니다. 이스라엘을 구원할 것으로 기대했던 강력한 선지자 말입니다. 그러나 그것은 대신 이루어졌습니다. 어떤 여인들은 살아있는 예수를 보았습니다. 그것은 믿을 수 없는 일이었고, 그런 일이 너무 많아서 우리는 집으로 가고 있습니다. 그래서 예수님은 이것이 바로 유대 성경이 계속해서 지적해 온 것이라고 설명하려고 노력하십니다.

That Israel needed a King who would suffer and die as a rebel on behalf of those who are actually rebels. And then he would be vindicated by his resurrection, so he could give true life to those who would receive it. But it still not making sense, they are as confused as ever. Which leads to the scene where they sit down for a meal with Jesus

이스라엘은 실제로 반역하는 사람들을 대신하여 반역자로서 고통 받고 죽을 왕이 필요했습니다. 그리고 예수가 그의 부활로 입증할 것입니다. 그래서 예수는 구원을 받을 사람들에게 참된 생명을 줄 수 있습니다. 그러나 그것은 여전히 말이 안되고, 그들은 그 어느 때보다 더 혼란스럽습니다. 그리고 이 이야기는 그들이 예수님과 함께 식사를 위해 식탁에 앉는 장면으로 이어집니다.

He takes the bread, he blesses it, breaks it and gives it to them just as he did at the last supper. Yeah, this is the image of his broken body, his death on the cross. And it is when they take in the broken bread. That is when their eyes are open to see Jesus then he disappears and the episode is over. So this is a story about how it is hard is to see Jesus for who he really is. 

예수는 빵을 들고 축복하고 쪼개서 그들에게 줍니다. 그가 최후의 만찬에서 했던 것처럼 말이죠. 네, 이건 그의 부서진 몸, 십자가 위에서 그의 죽음의 이미지입니다. 그리고 그들은 부서진 빵을 먹을 때, 예수님을 보기 위해 눈을 뜨고, 그때 예수는 사라지고 이 이갸기는 끝납니다. 그래서 이것은 그가 진정 누구인지, 예수를 보는 것이 얼마나 어려운지에 대한 이야기입니다. 

Yes, this is brilliant, I mean How could God's royal power and love be revealed through this man's shameful execution? How could a humble man become the King of world through weakness and self sacrifice? It is very hard to see. But this is the message of the Gospel of Luke.

네 맞습니다. 어떻게 하나님의 왕권과 사랑이 이 사람의 수치스러운 처형을 통해 이루어 질 수 있을까요? 한 명의 겸손한 사람이 약함과 자기 희생을 통해 어떻게 세상의 왕이 될 수 있을까요? 알기가 매우 어렵습니다. 그러나 이것이 누가복음의 메시지입니다.

It takes a transformation of your imagination to see it and embrace Jesus's upside down kingdom. The Gospel of Luke ends with: Jesus and all of his disciples together over another meal and everyone is freaking out about his resurrected body. I mean he is still a human but way more. Yes, He has passed through death and come out the other side, a walking, talking, piece of new creation.

그것을 보려면 상상력의 변화가 필요하고, 예수의 거꾸로 된 왕국을 받아들여야 합니다. 누가복음은 이렇게 끝납니다. 예수와 모든 제자들이 함께 또 다른 식사를 하고, 모두가 그의 부활된 몸에 대해 놀라워 합니다. 그는 아직 인간이지만 그 이상이란 뜻입니다. 네, 그는 죽음을 극복하고 다른 쪽으로 나와서 걷고, 말하고 그는 새로운 창조물이 되었습니다. 

And then Jesus tells them that He's going to give them the same divine power that sustained Him so they can go out and share the Good News of God's Kingdom with other people. After this, Luke tells us that Jesus was taken up into Heaven which is a cool exit and all, but why disappear into the sky?

그리고 예수님은 그를 지탱한 같은 신성한 힘을 그의 제자들에게 주실 것이라고 말씀하십니다. 그래서 제자들은 나가서 다른 사람들과 하나님 왕국의 복음을 나눌 수 있도록 말이죠. 그 후에 누가는 예수님이 하늘로 들려 올라가셨다고 우리에게 말합니다. 천국은 멋진 출구이고 모든 것이지만, 왜 하늘로 사라지셨을까요? 

In the Old Testament, the skies are the place of God's throne, they're above everything. So this is Luke's way of showing that Jesus has been enthroned as the Divine King of the whole world. His followers stay in Jerusalem, worshipping God and Jesus, waiting for this new power and this is where the gospel ends. 

구약에서 하늘은 하나님 보좌의 장소, 모든 것이 그 위에 있습니다. 그래서 이것이 예수님이 전 세계의 신성한 왕으로 즉위하셨음을 보여주는 누가의 방법입니다. 그의 제자들은 예루살렘에서 머물고, 이 새로운 힘을 기다리면서 하나님과 예수님을 경배합니다. 그리고 이렇게 마가복음이 끝납니다. 

Now Luke is going to write about how they receive this power and take the news out into the world. And that's what his second volume, The Book Of Acts, is all about. 

이제 누가는 제자들이 어떻게 그 힘을 받고, 그 소식을 세상에 알릴 수 있는가에 대해 쓸 것입니다. 이것이 그의 두 번째 책인 사도행전의 내용입니다.
