마가복음(Mark) Chapter 13: 성전 멸망 예고

 

예수님은 성전을 떠나시면서 예루살렘 성전의 멸망을 예고하십니다. 제자들, 베드로와 야고보와 요한과 안드레가 멸망의 증조를 묻자 예수님의 설명은 끔찍합니다. 그리고 그런 일들이 다 일어났다 합니다.  

2. 예수께서 이르시되 네가 이 큰 건물들을 보느냐 돌 하나도 돌 위에 남지 않고 다 무너뜨려지리라 하시니라

 

"Do you see all these great buildings?" replied Jesus. "Not one stone here will be left on another; every one will be thrown down."
성전의 규모를 찾아 보았습니다.

 

The Jewish historian Josephus describes the colonnades:

 

 

"All the cloisters were double, and the pillars to them belonging were twenty-five cubits in height, and supported -the cloisters. These pillars were of one entire stone each of them, and that stone was white marble; and the roofs were adorned with cedar, curiously graven. The natural magnificence, and excellent polish, and the harmony of the joints in these cloisters, afforded a prospect that was very remarkable; nor was it on the outside adorned with any work of the painter or engraver. The cloisters -(of the outmost court) were in breadth thirty cubits, while the entire compass of it was by measure six furlongs, including the tower of Antonia; those entire courts that were exposed to the air were laid with stones of all sorts" (Jewish War 5. 5. 2).

헤롯이 지은 성전의 위용과 찬란함은 대단했던 것 같습니다. 들어가는 대문이 8개가 있었다 합니다. 이 찬란한 성전의 멸망은 교회는 건물이나 돈이 아니라 주님 안에 있음을 설명하십니다.

 

2절에 기록된 성전은 유대인 역사학자 요세푸스에 의하면 성전 돌 하나의 기둥이 20미터(45규빗)이었고 성벽의 높은 곳은 50미터가 넘었다고 합니다. 그러나 이러한 화려한 성전은 AD 70년 경에 완전히 파괴되었다 하네요. (매일성경)

 

이어 예수님은 그리스도의 환란, 거짓 선지자들과 스스로 그리스도라 칭하는 자들이 나타날 것임을 예언하십니다. 심판의 날의 설명은 무시무시합니다.

24. 그 때에 그 환난 후 해가 어두워지며 달이 빛을 내지 아니하며
25. 별들이 하늘에서 떨어지며 하늘에 있는 권능들이 흔들리리라
26. 그 때에 인자가 구름을 타고 큰 권능과 영광으로 오는 것을 사람들이 보리라
27. 또 그 때에 그가 천사들을 보내어 자기가 택하신 자들을 땅 끝으로부터 하늘 끝까지 사방에서 모으리라

24."But in those days, following that distress, "'the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light;
25.the stars will fall from the sky, and the heavenly bodies will be shaken.'
26."At that time men will see the Son of Man coming in clouds with great power and glory.
27.And he will send his angels and gather his elect from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of the heavens.

 

예수님은 무화과나무의 비유를 다시 언급하시면서 주의 재림의 날에 자지말고 깨어있으라 하십니다. 오늘 선택한 말씀입니다. 33. 주의하라 깨어 있으라 그 때가 언제인지 알지 못함이라
34. 가령 사람이 집을 떠나 타국으로 갈 때에 그 종들에게 권한을 주어 각각 사무를 맡기며 문지기에게 깨어 있으라 명함과 같으니
35. 그러므로 깨어 있으라 집 주인이 언제 올는지 혹 저물 때일는지, 밤중일는지, 닭 울 때일는지, 새벽일는지 너희가 알지 못함이라
36. 그가 홀연히 와서 너희가 자는 것을 보지 않도록 하라

 

33.Be on guard! Be alert! You do not know when that time will come.
34.It's like a man going away: He leaves his house and puts his servants in charge, each with his assigned task, and tells the one at the door to keep watch.
35."Therefore keep watch because you do not know when the owner of the house will come back--whether in the evening, or at midnight, or when the rooster crows, or at dawn.
36.If he comes suddenly, do not let him find you sleeping.
37.What I say to you, I say to everyone: 'Watch!'"

 

항상 깨어있는 것은 쉽지 않은 실천입니다. 몇 일 몸이 많이 아펐습니다. 급한 프로젝트에 몇 일 집중하고 1차로 마쳤는데 몸살이 나서 이틀 계속 누워있었네요. 어제도 아퍼서 계속 누워있었더니 잠을 자지 못했습니다. 계속 누워는 있었는데 악몽에 시달리고 새벽에 몸이 흠씬 땀으로 졌어 있었습니다. 깨어서 겨우 하루밤을 센다는 것이 얼마나 힘든 일인지 느낀 밤이었습니다. 아버지만 아시는 심판의 날에 깨어있으려면 늘 깨어있어야 하는데...

오래 전에 돌아가신 아버지께는 영락교회 초창기 멤버인 원로장로님이셨습니다. 연세가 많으셔서 할아버지 같은 아버지셨는데 살아 생전 우리에게 늘 하신 말씀이 '항상 깨어있어라!' 이셨던 기억이 납니다.

 

QT가 매일 늦어지네요. 거의 한 달분이 밀린 것 같습니다. 깨어있어야 밀리지 않는데 저의 게으름이 원망스럽네요. 새로운 시작이 되는 주일입니다. 아이에게 성질부리지 않는 하루가 되도록 노력하겠다는 다짐이 필요한 시간입니다. 아플 때마다 성질부리고 아이가 예민해 지는데... 늘 걱정입니다.
